(August 7, 2013) – Happy hump day!  We are halfway to the week-end, and to get you excited about the week-end (or maybe just today’s happy hour) this Wednesday we would like to share the Ocean Vodka Mojito.

This creative and refreshing drink was concocted by Jesse Damron of Ocean Bar Service, a private bartending service in Southern California.

This cocktail reveals the ocean in every way from its base color in the glass of off-white, resembling the sand of the ocean floor. The top 3/4 of the cocktail is aqua blue with mint resembling seaweed and ice resembling sea foam. When shaken vigorously and fresh Schwepp’s Club Soda is used to top, it will create a natural foaming froth effect. Garnish with some fresh mint and you have some floating seaweed.

DIRECTIONS:

In a shaker squeeze 1 lime wedge and drop into shaker, add 10 mint leaves and 3/4 oz. simple syrup. Muddle vigorously until it is almost a paste.

Add ice then pour:

1.25 oz. Ocean Vodka

1/2   oz. Three Palm’s Coconut Rum

3/4   oz. clear Peach Schnapps

3/4   oz. Rose’s Lime Juice

2      Bar Spoons of Coco Real

* Shake Vigorously until the ice has broken down and the noise is less than half than when shaking began.

Pour contents into a large rocks glass or high ball.

Add fresh ice if needed.

Fill with club soda.

Stir lightly.

Top with 1/2-3/4 oz. Blue Curacoa. Contents will sink 3/4 down the mixture and settle about 1 inch from the bottom of the glass.
